Multiply your CGPA by 9.5 for UGC/CBSE. For example, 8.0 CGPA × 9.5 = 76%. Other universities use a different formula — see Section 6.

How do I calculate percentage from CGPA?

Multiply your CGPA by your university's factor. For UGC/CBSE it's 9.5, so 7.6 CGPA = 72.2%.

What is the CGPA multiplying factor?

9.5 for UGC/CBSE. It comes from CBSE's own data — top-grade students averaged 95 marks, divided by a grade point of 10. Other universities use different factors (Section 6).

9.0+ is excellent, 8.0–8.9 very good, 7.0–7.9 good. Below 6.0 may miss some placement or higher-study cutoffs.

Is CGPA the same as percentage?

No. CGPA is a grade-point average out of 10; percentage is a direct score out of 100. An 8.0 CGPA isn't automatically 80% — the exact conversion depends on your university's formula.

CGPA2Percent is a calculator tool, not a platform that needs to know who you are. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.

The Short Version

Nothing you type into a calculator on this site — your CGPA, percentage, SGPA, any number — ever leaves your browser. We don't see it, store it, or have any way to access it. If you never contact us, the only thing we know about your visit is basic traffic data through Google Analytics: which pages get used, roughly how long people stay, where visitors are coming from. Nothing tied to your name.

What We Actually Collect

Two things, and only two:

If you use our contact form or email us directly, we get your email address and whatever message you send. We keep that only long enough to answer you, and we don't use it for marketing or anything beyond replying.
Beyond that, standard server and analytics logs pick up technical details every website collects automatically — IP address, browser type, which pages you visited, when. This is aggregate, not personal, and it's how we figure out which calculators are actually getting used so we know what to build next.

We don't ask you to register. We don't have accounts. There's no reason to.

Cookies and Google Analytics

We run Google Analytics to see overall traffic patterns — nothing more granular than that. It sets a few standard analytics cookies to do this. You can block or clear these through your browser settings any time, and it won't affect any calculator on the site, since none of them depend on cookies to work.

We don't run advertising right now. If that changes — say, we add Google AdSense down the line — we'll update this page before it happens, and we'll spell out exactly what new cookies get added and why, the same direct way this section describes our current Analytics setup. We're not going to bury that kind of change in a routine edit.

Your Rights Under Indian Law

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you specific rights over your own data, and they apply here: you can ask what we hold about you (realistically, that's just a contact-form message, if you've ever sent one), ask us to fix something inaccurate, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent for anything you'd previously agreed to. Email us and we'll act on it.

If You're a Student Under 18

This site is built for students, including school-age users working through Class 10 or Class 12 calculations. We don't collect anything from anyone beyond what's already described above — an email address, and only if someone chooses to write to us. No account, no profile, no data tied to a minor beyond that.

Links to Other Sites

Some pages link out to official university or education board websites, since that's where we source our formulas from. Once you click through, you're on their site under their rules — we have no visibility into or control over how they handle your data.

What We Deliberately Don't Do

Worth stating plainly: we don't track you across other websites, we don't build any kind of profile on you, we don't sell data because we don't have any to sell, and we don't store the academic numbers you calculate anywhere outside your own browser session.

Changes

If this policy changes — most likely when we eventually add advertising — we'll update the date at the top and describe what actually changed, not just reissue a vague "we've updated our policy" notice.
